Moradabad administration orders Samajwadi Party to vacate 31-year-old bunglow allotted to Mulayam Singh Yadav

The Moradabad district administration has asked the Samajwadi Party (SP) to leave its district office within 30 days. This order comes after the official allotment of the government bungalow, which the party is currently using, was cancelled. The bungalow, marked as Number 4, is located in the Chakkar Ki Milak region near Civil Lines near the Police Training College. It was first given to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav in 1994.

Bungalow order cancelled after being held for 31 years

Officials said the bungalow is about 1,000 square yards in size and was allotted for just ₹350. Since Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away, the party never applied to transfer the property in its name. Since there were no legal papers or renewal done, District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Singh cancelled the allotment. He stated that a political party cannot use a government building without proper approval. As per his instructions, the Additional District Magistrate (Finance) sent a notice to SP Moradabad president Jayveer Singh Yadav, telling him to leave the office and return it to the administration within one month.

Legal steps and daily fine if not vacated on time

The notice clearly states that if the office is not vacated within 30 days, the administration will take legal action in court. Also, a fine of ₹1,000 will be charged every day the party stays there without permission after the deadline. The bungalow has been the SP district office for over 30 years, but the government now plans to use it for official work or as a residence once it is vacated.

History behind the allotment and political importance

The bungalow was allotted to former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav in 1994. Later, he also became the national leader of the SP. The building held special meaning for the party in this area. But after Mulayam Singh’s death in 2022, the party did not complete any legal steps to keep the property. This seems to be the reason for the recent action by the district officials. The SP has not made any public comments yet, but the decision is drawing attention, especially as state elections approach.
